State it!
I heard of a guy and a lady that were very good friends, super close even (I was witness to this actually) ... they had been friends since University days and everyone who saw them knew just how close and inseparable they were.
One day, the lady told her friend (the guy) that she had met "the one", and as she was telling her friend about this guy she met, you'd know that she had fallen deep.
The next words the guy uttered was a shock to me (the sofo 😂), and her. He said, "What about me? I thought I was the one". The girl was like "Huh?!"...and Brother continued and said, "We've done almost everything together over the last couple of years, we know our different families, we share the same network, you've told me times without number that you love me, I just assumed we were dating...I was even thinking that after Uni, I'd propose".
I wanted to hear the gist firsthand, but my friend asked me to leave them to talk 😐.
I entered the room a while later and met my friend crying... Even though I was worried about her, I was so intent to know what happened and good friend that she is, she explained.
Brother had assumed that they were a couple all because they were very close, and my friend saw him as her best friend. Long story short, Brother stopped talking to her.
That evening, I had just one question for her which was "Did he ever ask you out?"...her answer was in the negative.
Everything that happened afterwards is for me to know and for you to find out 😋...
On a more serious note, What's with people these days and their assuming attitude??
Oh! I thought...
But I just assumed that...
Really, Life is way too short for so many assumptions and thoughts that would profit nothing.
If you want the babe, go and get her (hehehehehe), go and tell her.
Do NOT assume that because she calls you or she's so caring, she likes you too.
Do NOT assume that someone would do anything for you because they've been so nice.
Do NOT assume... Just don't.
State it instead!
You like someone, tell them
You have a crush on someone, tell them
You don't like someone's attitude towards you, tell them.
I know we probably think it's not easy... based on the scenario above, if the guy had told the lady how he truly felt, it would have saved them a lot of heartache.
My Dad always say, "If you want something from me, and I know you want it, you will not get it if you don't tell me..."
State it now, before it becomes too late!
Cheers,
Hadassah.
